Wangdue Phodrang Dzong — Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan
The Wangdue Phodrang Dzong was founded by the Zhabdrung in 1638. It sits on top of a high ridge between the Punak Tsang Chhu and the Dang Chhu rivers. It was tragically destroyed by fire in 2012 but has been under reconstruction.
