Trashigang, Bhutan
The 'Jewel of the East' is a town with a swagger. As the historical hub for trade with Tibet and India, it has always been a melting pot. The Dzong commands the landscape like a battleship, and the town square is a vibrant mix of weavers, monks, and Brokpa nomads selling fermented cheese. It feels far from Thimphu, and proudly so.
