The wild north. Gasa is more of a frontier outpost than a district capital. Connected by road only recently, it’s the gateway to the high Himalayas and home to the Layap people with their distinctive conical bamboo hats. It’s famous for its hot springs (Gasa Tshachu) where locals trek for days to soak, believing the waters can cure anything from arthritis to a broken heart.
